Things to see and do

This shore-side county has some amazing outdoor activities; from dolphin watching, surfing Aileen’s Wave, taking in the striking Cliffs of Moher, kitesurfing and nature walks aplenty. The Cliffs of Moher in particular are one of the most popular sites, having made an appearances on the screens of blockbuster films such as The Princess Bride and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The cliffs have a breathtaking presence proudly standing at an impressive 214 meters high, with the sea crashing below. On a clear day you can gaze out onto the Aran Islands, Galway Bay and the Twelve Bens from the cliff top. A top tip for a spectacular view is the Cliffs of Moher cruise from Doolin with Doolin2Aran Ferries, where you can see the great cliffs, and if you look very hard you can even spot dolphins and porpoises leaping from the deep toned waves!
