Elegant Transformation

By restoring, re-purposing and re-imagining Graham and Emma turned a ‘house of horrors’ in Belfast into an elegantly practical home.

With their oldest child due to start school the following year, the clock was ticking if Graham and Emma were to find a new family home in time for him to enrol in the local primary. ‘We had been living in a smaller house nearby but with Conor set for school in a few months’ the time had come to seriously start looking for a family home,’ says Emma. ‘We knew the area well – it has plenty of local shops and cafés and a lovely community atmosphere even though it’s just minutes from the city centre. And importantly there’s a good range of good schools, all easily accessible, both primary and secondary. That was important as we wanted to put roots down here for a while.’
