September 2017 – Issue 267

What glorious weather we have had this summer! It has been very refreshing compared to our usual ‘Irish summer’ and makes it all the easier looking forward to the new season ahead. Our September issue is jam packed with interiors inspiration; Our living rooms feature looks at the latest trends in living room furniture with a diverse display of sofas, armchairs and coffee tables with plenty there for every style of home. Into the kitchen we showcase one of the most sought after features that home owners are looking for, the kitchen island. Flooring doesn’t need to be boring, and we prove that with a selection of tiles, wood, laminate and carpet to suit all types of family homes, with lots of information to help you make an informative choice! With ‘back to school’ just around the corner, we also take a look at study spaces within the home; whether you need a space for growing children to do their homework, or somewhere to work from home, we have everything you would need to make a comfortable work space possible.

On to our readers’ homes this issue, we journey to Arklow, County Wicklow to Rebecca and Barry’s stunning home that was refurbished on a budget. In Dublin we visit a period property that has been sympathetically updated, with contemporary artwork and furnishings giving it a unique, modern look. In Ballymena, Judy and Simon show us around their stunning new build that is filled with cool and calm, neutral tones and views of the rolling countryside. Last but not least, we visit Jim in his family home where he wanted a sleek and modern kitchen for his extension, and called upon Noel Dempsey Design who created the stylish and functional space that they desired.

We also can’t forget our issue regulars! For our travel features we are off to explore Dunfanaghy in Donegal, and further afield we learn all that the Canadian city of Montreal has to offer. Deirdre lets us know why wild doesn’t have to be a bad thing in the garden, and our cookery pages offer delicious recipes from Catherine Fulvio’s A Taste of Home cookbook, and you could be in with a chance of winning one! We hope you enjoy this issue of Ireland’s Homes Interiors & Living, and as always, if you have a home, or know of someone who has a home, that you would like to see featured in the magazine contact editorial on 028 9147 3979 or editorial@ihil.net
