Bespoke Charm

Recently, Simon and Patricia have extended and renovated the back of their house, which now boasts a stunning kitchen from Wilson’s Yard within a larger open-plan living and dining area.

As Patricia explains, ‘The kitchen was half the size it is now. We extended and created an open-plan space to include the adjacent family room. My brother, David Henderson, is a builder and he did a great job. Extending the kitchen has allowed for more natural light into the back of the house with the two velux windows in the ceiling and for this reason we also added the Baskil wooden doors with glass panels which lead out to the patio area, which is perfect for a table and chairs outside in the warmer weather. We also sympathetically replaced our old sash windows in this part of the house.

‘We have a traditional home and like to keep this feel throughout the house, so it was on a trip to Wilson’s Yard to pick an original parquet flooring for our bedroom that I fell in love with this kitchen design. I had looked at other traditional kitchen designs, but when I saw this one on display in their showroom I knew Wilson’s Yard, and in turn, Nigel Wilson, could help me achieve my dream kitchen, which is now a family-friendly open-plan space that we can all be in together.
