With autumn finally here, the days getting shorter and the weather that bit colder, you will find our October issue filled with seasonal warmth. Our heating feature focuses on stylish stoves and fireplaces for the home, with comments from the experts. We also take a look at inspirational bathrooms, featuring showers, baths and tiling, in a range of contemporary, classic and elegant stylings. With a new season comes new trends and we bring you a selection of what to expect in the world of interiors; get ready to embrace turquoise, fringing, velvet and metallic, just to name a few new trends on the horizon.

Our readers’ homes in this issue take us all over Ireland and beyond! Firstly we visit a stunning family residence situated in the beautiful countryside of the Ring of Gullion, County Armagh, an elegant family home which takes full advantage of the surrounding landscape. In Kildare, the owners of this detached family home decided it was time for a refurbishment so they turned to Louise Higgins and Aspire Design to make their dream home a reality. Then we travel to a 1950s London property that has been transformed by Des Ewing Architects into a modern and highly stylish family home. For our reader’s kitchen we head south to County Meath where Frances and Sean wanted a bright and spacious family kitchen for their new extension. After visiting BSG Design the couple chose a stunning design by Kitchen Stori that maximises the natural light in the space.

The lifestyle pages in this issue take us to the other side of the world – The Gold Coast, famed for its long, sandy beaches, surfing spots and fun filled adventure on the coast of Australia. The perfect holiday destination for the entire family. Then closer to home we suggest the perfect city break destination to visit in October, Derry~Londonderry, as it is slowly growing in popularity the world over for its ghoulish Halloween festivities. Our cookery pages feature four recipes from the new cookbook by Nadia Sawalha and Kaye Adams entitled Nadia & Kaye Disaster Chef which is full of simple recipes for cooks who can’t! Our gardening expert, Deirdre talks about how to introduce white flowers into any planting scheme to soften the clash of competing colours or simply use white as the overall colour scheme.
