November 2015 – Issue 245 – 21st Birthday Issue!

It’s our birthday! This November we turn 21 and to mark the occasion we have a great issue for you to enjoy which also includes a Readers’ Survey allowing you to tell us your thoughts and let us know what you might like to be reading for the next 21 years!

In the run up to the festive season we bring you a selection of kitchen designs that incorporate casual and formal dining options and look at the latest dining table and chair designs to ensure your family and friends are all accommodated whenever you are entertaining. With this in mind, we also take the opportunity to look at atmospheric lighting options to ensure that your entertaining space is appropriately lit.

Our homes this issue include Shóna and Peter’s new-build family home in Rossglass as well as Michael’s elegant Georgian house in Wexford which reflects his love of antiques and skilful use of colour. We also get a peek inside Catherine’s Belfast apartment, which reflects her expert interior knowledge and last but not least, in Waterford John and Maria decided to redesign their own house for their future needs rather than move to a new one.

The reader’s kitchen is located in Portstewart, where Myrtle and Leslie moved to their new contemporary home and with the help of the Design Yard have fitted a modern kitchen that provides an ease of living through it’s coherent design, smooth curves and key appliances.

Rachel Allen’s new cook book ‘Coast’ is the focus of our food pages and we feature a few of her recipes which are inspired by Ireland’s wild Atlantic coast. Another feature that celebrates Ireland, and specifically its hospitality, is our Destination Ireland which profiles the B&Bs Daniel O’Donnell and his wife Majella will visit in their new TV series.

Finally, if you have a home or know of someone who has a home that you would like to see featured in the magazine contact us by email at editorial@ihil.net or phone 028 9147 3979.
