Set amidst the tranquil countryside of Co. Kilkenny, Marie Nolan’s stunning contemporary new build boasts spectacular uninterrupted views of the surrounding fields and Blackstairs mountains beyond. ‘When you drive through our gates it’s like entering a peaceful oasis,’ says Marie, who having previously renovated a house and having experience in new builds, took on the task of designing and project managing this new build herself. ‘We had previously lived in a house that was built in the 1960s, which we totally refurbished, but we felt it wasn’t going to meet our needs in the future. It was on a very busy road, we wanted a healthier environment and we really wanted to live in an A-rated energy efficient home that would be less expensive to run,’ explains Marie.
