January 2017 – Issue 259

It’s a new year and as we make our way into 2017, with the festive excitement and stresses of last year behind us, we can now start to enjoy the year ahead.

In this issue we are all about comfortable, cosy interiors and we bring you everything you need for a snug, stylish home to see out the final months of winter. We take a look at comfortable seating, bringing you a selection of sofas and armchairs that you can retreat to after a long day. We have also brought together a range of soft window dressings and flooring, with curtains, carpets and rugs, as well as those decorative extras that bring the whole thing together.

Some of the other features in our January issue include Designers at Home, where some of Ireland’s top kitchen designers allow us into their homes to see what they have done with their own kitchens! Roisin Lafferty from Kingston | Lafferty Design discusses the use of commercial interior design within today’s homes and Sara Thompson from Thompson Clarke Interiors highlights a selection of Irish designer to look out for in 2017.

Our homes this issue take us to Alfie and Sandra’s stunning new build in Dunadry, which has been thoughtfully designed and decorated with antiques and touches of blue and gold. Next we are off to Ardmore to John and Paula’s beautiful fisherman’s cottage that ticked all the boxes for the couple, and in Dublin we have Katie and George’s Georgian terrace home that is perfect for their family.

As for our reader’s kitchen we speak with Carol from Celbridge who had put a lot of research into her kitchen, so she knew exactly what she wanted and O’Connors of Drumleck have delivered it to perfection.

Speaking of the kitchen, we also have our range cookers feature, which should fully equip you to rustle up some of the delicious recipes from our cookery pages brought to you from Rachel Allen’s new cookbook ‘Mother knows Best’.

Our travel features this issue take us to bonny Scotland, to the picturesque city of Edinburgh, and you will soon find yourself relaxed and revived with our selection of some of the best spas around Ireland. We have also introduced a new addition to our travel pages with ‘Hotel Inspector’ and for our first profile we visit the hip, new Bullitt hotel in Belfast.

Finally, the whole team at Ireland’s Homes Interiors & Living Magazine would like to wish our readers a very happy new year ahead, and remember, if you have a home or know someone who has a home that you would like to see featured in the magazine contact editorial on 028 9147 3979 or email editorial@ihil.net
