The hallway can be overlooked in favour of decorating rooms and is often regarded as a space for simply getting you from here to there. However, a nicely decorated hallway is the finishing touch that can pull an entire home together.

How to decorate your hallway with rugs According to Vanessa Arbuthnott, rugs in the hallways present your house as homely and gives an added element to your décor. You need to take into account the length and width of the hallway before you purchase, if you find that your hallway is long and narrow you should consider runners. Runners are great because they will accessorise your hallway without making it look cramped. Only use round rugs if you have the added space because it will look too oversized in a narrow passage. Also the rugs in your hallway need to be able to cope with a lot, people will step on this first as they enter from outside so natural materials are best as they are hard wearing and have low dirt adhesion.
