Making an Entrance

Your hallway is the first thing guests see as they come through the front door and as its only used as a walk-through, you can afford to make a statement. So, whilst always making sure it’s warm and welcoming when decorating this space, consider everything from storage and lighting to furniture and wallpaper.

Furniture & Storage

A hallway doesn’t have to become a blank space that functions only for foot traffic. It can be a great place to store shoes, coats and keys. A small table by your front door is ideal for dumping post or displaying a bouquet of flowers. Hide hallway clutter with a useful storage bench. Choose one with compartments and load it up with boxes and baskets. A decorative wire key holder takes up no space at all and can be mounted on the wall – perfect for those who are always losing their keys! Shoe racks are great for family homes as they keep the hallway organised. Slide the rack under a side table if you’d prefer to keep it out of sight.
