February 2017 – Issue 260

With the New Year festivities behind us, things are starting to return back to some sort of normality as we make our way into February. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we give a subtle nod to romance throughout the issue.

If you are looking to switch up your bedroom décor as the seasons begin to change, we have lots of ideas for bed frames and decorative styles that will suit master, guest or children’s rooms.

Going downstairs, we take a look at all aspects of dining, from advice on choosing the right tables and chairs, to storage options and lots of lovely inspiration for dressing your table with beautiful tableware and accessories. Cooking up something to serve in your dining room couldn’t be easier with our selection of hobs, ovens and extractors; the perfect trio!

Our readers’ homes this issue take us to Linda and Victor in County Wicklow, where they have lovingly built and furnished their ‘forever home’ in their dream spot. Next we visit Helen and Owen in their Dublin period property that has been beautifully restored with the addition of a modern extension and, in Fivemiletown Rosemary shows us her beautiful listed cottage in Fermanagh that has stunning views of the Lakelands.

Staying in Northern Ireland, Belfast is the location of our reader’s kitchen. Parkes Interiors have created the perfect kitchen for Paul and Jen’s modern new build and we were lucky enough to take a closer look.

Speaking of kitchens, our cookery pages bring us delicious recipes from local chef, Paula McIntyre. We bring you four delicious recipes from Paula’s cookbook, ‘Down to Earth’ which showcases the bounty of our local produce here in Ireland. Feeling the romance in our travel pages we visit some of the world’s most beautiful islands, perfect for couple retreats, and closer to home we explore some of Ireland’s most romantic castles.
