Old Meets New

With the addition of a modern extension and the expertise of architect Niall Henry, Aoife and Ralph have created a stylish and spacious home perfect for them and the needs of their growing family.

Back in 2011, after 10 years of living in Washington, Aoife and Ralph decided to relocate to Ireland, keen to come home in order to educate their four boys. Having had the experience of refurbishing their former house in Washington they knew exactly what they wanted for their new home. ‘We wanted to refurbish an old period property, and were keen to have a home that would be practical and functional for us and our four boys. We were both drawn to Georgian style properties with the possibilities to extend. We enlisted the help of architect Niall Henry and his guidance and ideas enabled us to find a house that ticked all the right boxes. It was the location, the mature gardens, the idyllic setting and the space to extend that drew us to this property. It felt like a slice of the countryside in this urban area of Dun Laoghaire,’ says Aoife.
