A Light-Filled Reinvention
This Edwardian home redesign is a confident reworking of a period property, where modern living has been introduced with confidence by Cooling Design.
Emma Cooling from Cooling Design reflects on a project that manages to feel both loyal to its heritage and proudly modern. With a reworked extension, a reimagined layout and a bold yet controlled use of colour, the result is a home that feels softly expressive of its owners’ taste. ‘This is a beautiful Edwardian home, in Dublin 6. It already had a kitchen extension but the family wanted to update this and add an extra living space for a lounge area,’ Emma begins. ‘The project was already underway with Culligan Architects, who designed a beautiful seamless extension, bathed in light,’ Emma says, before Cooling Design joined to work alongside them on the space planning and interiors. The project was about refinement rather than reinvention, enhancing what was already there while introducing a more deliberate way of living within the space.Read more in the June issue…
