A New Lease of Life

Enjoy a closer look at Kevin’s beautifully restored Georgian home in Portobello, Dublin, one of this year’s homes on Home of the Year on RTÉ One.

Kevin purchased this beautiful Georgian property in early 2019; although he was already living nearby, a keen gardener, he wanted a house with a south-westerly facing garden. ‘Alistair Hickey from estate agency Felicity Fox lined up three properties for me to view, two were in good condition and then there was this one – now I have to say here that I am always attracted to houses that I can beautifully restore, if you can see the sky through the roof that’s a good starting point for me! This place was in very poor condition and instantly I was excited about it! From day one I could imagine what I could do with this house and pictured myself living in it. Everything fitted together perfectly in my head.
