Limerick

Located in the province of Munster, Limerick is a beautiful county with its thriving city at its core. A perfect getaway for the entire family to enjoy.

Things to see and do
Whether you are interested in exploring the outdoors or learning about history or culture, there is plenty to do in Limerick. Start off by exploring the heart of the city’s medieval distract with a visit to King John’s Castle, an obdurate and brooding Norman mass that sits over the River Shannon. The castle was recently reopened after extensive renovations but originally served as the military and administrative centre for the Shannon region. You can admire the exterior at its best from the west bank of the river, but inside you will find recreations of medieval weapons, such as trebuchet, artifacts, multimedia displays, reconstructed Norman features and much more. You can also enjoy the café that hosts amazing views on to the castle courtyard and the Shannon river. The castle is open for visitors all year round, from 9.30am to 5.00pm.
