With thousands of people tuning in each Sunday to watch incredible stories and home makeovers, DIY SOS on RTE, really hit home for Irish viewers and has been hailed as one of the best TV shows of 2020.

Hosted by funny man Baz Ashmawy, the inspirational and emotional show saw volunteers from the building and interior design world come together to help out deserving families in need of help finishing their dream homes.

Cosentino Ireland was honoured to be part of this compassionate and noble television series and worked with designers on two of the projects featured on the show supplying the materials free of charge.

Dekton Opera on 20mm was used for this project

In last night’s episode, Cosentino Ireland donated the stunning white and grey veined stone in the kitchen area. Cosentino’s product, Dekton Opera, was used for the countertops, island, table and splashback to create this striking space. The stand out feature is undoubtedly the island with waterfall drop down detail to the seating section.

The bright and airy kitchen, which was designed with a busy family in mind, is beautifully finished while staying functional, practical and easy to keep clean. Michelle Begley, Director for Kitchen World, designed the kitchen using Dekton material and Stone Surfaces, a Cosentino Platinum Fabricator, fabricated and fitted the product for the show.

Last week, the team were in Tipperary for the second episode of the DIY SOS series. For this project, the Cosentino Ireland team donated the luxurious white and grey countertops seen in the kitchen.

Silestone Lyra was used in this project

Cosentino’s product, Silestone Lyra, was used on the countertops and island to create this cosy and homely space for the family. Silestone, which is made up of 90% natural quartz, is extraordinarily hard and resilient making it an excellent surface for kitchen worktops, bathrooms, floors and wall cladding using the minimum number of joints.

Designed by Cavanagh Bros Kitchens and manufactured and fitted by William Coffey, the comfortable and stylish space was an all-round winner for the family.
