A Timeless Quality

The Co. Down home of antique enthusiast John is thoughtfully decorated with furnishings and accessories full of historical significance that combine beautifully to bring the rooms of his period home to life.

As soon as you make your way inside the doors of this period home you are immediately greeted by a wealth of carefully chosen, antique pieces. However, the home is light and airy and not overpowered by these numerous additions. The walls of this entrance hall are painted in a specially mixed blue paint and the flooring is a light oak parquet laminate. Here John has added a Victorian credenza on which sits a pair of Chinese ginger jars, one which came from a friend and one from an auction. Although not an original pair, they do work well together. There is also a large William IV gilt overmantel mirror to bounce the light around this elegant hallway and a treasured Dublin longcase clock bought by John’s mum and grandmother to mark his university graduation.
