Homeowners Katrina and Stephen altered their retirement course to the Mediterranean by choosing to revitalise a family semi-detached property in Bangor, Co. Down instead, bringing the warmth of the continent inside.

Katrina warmly reminisces about the incredible transformation of her mother-in-law’s cottage into a breathtaking Mediterranean-inspired sanctuary, now affectionately known as Tether’s End. Her husband, Stephen, and his sister acquired the property, and its rich history spanning over 50 years made Stephen reluctant to part with it. The deep-rooted affection for this cherished home led the couple to abandon their initial retirement plans abroad.
