Welcome

We’re embracing summer with our readers’ homes this issue as we head to the coastal town of Skerries and the new build home of Caitriona and Jonathan. Staying with this theme you’d be forgiven for thinking we’d jumped on a plane to Spain with Peter and Damian’s hacienda style transformation of their suburban Belfast home. Then, in the town of Arklow, Carmel and John have completely renovated their double fronted mid-terrace, creating a bright and airy family home filled with coastal hues.

Speaking of family homes, we focus on children’s bedrooms this month. Offering ideas for nurseries, young children and teens, we speak to the experts who explain that it is possible to create a stylish space that reflects your own interior style, but is one that they like too!

And, if you do struggle to find exactly what you are after when it comes to selecting the right pieces for your home interiors, we highlight four furniture designers offering bespoke, timeless designs tailored specifically to your needs.

This issue we also get the chance to catch up with artists Jacqueline Rooney on the launch of her new art gallery and shop in Rostrevor and Ciaran McCoy aka ‘Pigsy’ ahead of his return from Malaga to Ireland and his upcoming exhibition.

There are profiles on luxurious Irish brand Síoda Só and new online interior start-up Boho Home as well as a selection of Irish designers and makers in our regular #madeinireland section.

Plus we have our usual food offering with 11-pages of seasonal summer recipes from leading Irish chefs and cooks, as well as ideas on where to visit and vacation.

Last but not least, we introduce our new gardening columnist Conrad McCormick who has a particular passion for tropical plants and blooms. He will be bringing you lots of expert gardening advice and ideas over the coming months.

Enjoy!
