By late summer and early autumn, even the most enthusiastic gardeners can find themselves feeling a little disconnected from their garden. The exuberance of summer is beginning to fade. Some perennials are looking tired, annual displays are slowing down, and the long evenings are becoming noticeably shorter. Yet autumn also brings its own rewards and, for me, it is one of the most beautiful times of year in the garden.
