April 2021 – Issue 308

It’s great to see the days getting longer and more natural light bouncing of the walls of our homes. If you’re anything like me you’ll now be looking at how to switch things up with the seasons. To be honest, I have spent so much time looking at the same décor that a complete change is on the cards! However, before I start I’ll definitely be checking out some of the interior trends we highlight this issue to see if they can inspire me.

I’ll also be picking up some decorative ideas from our homes this issue, which include an elegant South Dublin coastal property, which has been beautifully restored and a contemporary extension added. Staying in the city, we also step inside Kevin Desmond’s Portobello Georgian terrace. A stunning example of a period home that has been brought back to life within its original footprint, and earned it a place amongst the 21 homes in this year’s Home of the Year on RTÉ One. Another impressive renovation this issue is the family home of artist Jacqueline Rooney and her husband Scott in Rostrevor where they have made the most of the stunning views out over the Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough.

Also, when was the last time you replaced your mattress? As March is National Bed Month we are recommending that you ‘invest in rest’ with everything from a new mattress to adequate storage all contributing to a good night’s sleep. So, if you are tossing and turning at night, a new bed and mattress might be the answer!
This issue we get the chance to catch up with Paul Moneypenny the aspiring interior designer from Belfast on the current series of Interior Design Masters on BBC2. Paul talks to us about his experience on the show and his hopes for the future.

From interesting reads to stylish interiors, plus some tasty recipes from Ireland’s top chefs to cook from home until their restaurant doors open again, we hope you enjoy this latest issue.
