Cause for Celebration

Using recycled materials, John and Charlotte have managed to create a unique and stylish home in County Wicklow that is packed full of creative flair and beautifully presented for the party season.

The old proverb ‘necessity is the mother of invention’, applies perfectly to the home of John and Charlotte, who wanted some more space to entertain their friends and family so came up with the clever idea of converting their garden shed. ‘We needed some more space for entertaining and we could also see there was a rental market for our garden shed, so it seemed to make sense to do it up and use it for our friends and family and eventually rent it out,’ says Charlotte. ‘We both thought it was a great idea, the only problem being it had no bathroom, no kitchen and no heating, so there was actually quite a lot of work involved in converting it and making it comfortable’.

Despite the obstacles, the couple decided to embark on the project giving themselves just ten weeks to turn the shed into a comfortable and practical home, ready for Christmas.
