My favourite colour is October!

October is a month which conjures up dark evenings, colder temperatures and the ground is cold and damp. At this time of the year, however, nature has a way of making us feel warm, bequeathing us with leaves of fiery reds, oranges and yellows.

While many people like to have evergreen planting to provide year round coverage in their gardens, there is nothing quite as spectacular and as heartwarming as the turning of leaves of deciduous trees in autumn. All deciduous trees lose their leaves but there are some species which put on a special, dazzling display of fiery colours which will heat up a cold October day.
