Bramley Cottage Garden By Deirdre Prince

Recently, I had the great pleasure of visiting Bramley Cottage and the beautiful gardens of Jane McCorkell, seven times gold medal winner at Bloom in the Park.

Built in County Meath in the 1700s, Bramley Cottage was built in the Palladian style and the grounds at the time were predominantly fruit farmland. When Jane and her husband began to restore the house in 2000, they began developing the gardens too and have been slowly transforming them ever since. McCorkell delights in the fact that there was no fixed plan on how the gardens should be laid out, but has allowed the design to steadily emerge over the years as the needs of the family changed.
