When they embarked on building, and subsequently furnishing their new home near Carlow, Gillian and Seamus never expected to end up with a new business venture as a result.

The definition of a ‘hansel’ is ‘a gift given for good luck when entering upon a new situation or enterprise.’ Art teacher Gillian named her new-build home near Carlow ‘Hansel House’ for her mother, who was always gifting her little ‘hansels’ for her new home, and now her home is gifting her the path to her dream of developing her own interiors retail business.
