A Canvas Fit for an Artist
A rebuild of a 1970s ruin, this home is something of a canvas for homeowner and artist Joyce. A backdrop of soft white throughout is accented by natural fabrics and finishes that allow her talent to command attention.
For Joyce, home and art are fused together. A GP turned artist, she paints from a house that both frames and fuels her creativity. It’s a place where white walls act as canvas and the surrounding landscape provides endless inspiration. ‘I’m from a village just down the road,’ says Joyce, who returned home after 25 years of living in England. A challenging family event heightened her desire to be reunited with family, and so the foundations of this gorgeous dwelling were put in motion and the transition from medicine to art began.Read more in the January issue…
