In crafting the ultimate kitchen space, homeowner Stuart turned to Exorna, with whom he had previously collaborated for a kitchen in his Portstewart home. This time, in his new residence, Stuart envisioned a sophisticated and stylish kitchen tailored to his needs as a frequent host and Exorna delivered.

Stuart admits cooking isn’t his primary talent, he loves to host. Working closely with Timmy McAuley, the lead designer at Exorna, Stuart’s journey towards achieving his dream kitchen became a highly collaborative effort, incorporating elements of both function and flair. Reflecting on the design process, Timmy began, ‘Stuart wanted a German-style kitchen with a dark timber finish and visible wood grain.’ This preference was influenced by Stuart’s extensive research and admiration for the sleek aesthetics of modern European kitchens. Together, they explored various options within the STORI brand, eventually landing on the Tavola range in a bespoke deep black stain. Stuart explains, ‘The quality of the stained finish, and the way the wood grain added depth, was even better than I had imagined. It felt dynamic, like it could come alive at different times of the day.’
