Brian Parkes of Parkes Interiors has reimagined this Belfast home with a classic shaker-style kitchen, sophisticated finishes, and a few unexpected design elements.

The clients had a vision for their kitchen, but the final result far surpassed their expectations. Anchored by a bespoke in-frame design with a large island and an Aga-style range cooker, the project evolved into something truly exceptional. Parkes Interiors rose to the challenge, navigating structural complexities to deliver a space that is both refined and highly functional. ‘We visited Parkes with the idea of a traditional painted wood kitchen that would be in keeping with the rest of our Victorian house, but create a real hub for modern family life. We were combining the existing kitchen and living room in order to create a larger space but were keen to keep the warm feel of the old room with its range cooker at the centre, traditional style cabinetry and wooden floors,’ the homeowner begins.
