As we head into February, love is in the air with Valentine’s Day just around the corner. Throughout the issue we keep it quite subtle, but you will find a few nods to romance throughout, especially in our gift guide!

In our bedrooms feature we bring you stylish and practical solutions, with some expert advice on getting a good night’s sleep in 2019! Whether you seek a contemporary or classic look, we have it covered!

We also take a look at fireplaces and stoves which will help you make an informed choice for your living space, with expert advice on having a stove in a new build and whether or not you need a chimney.

Whether you are planning a romantic meal for two, or eating with the whole family, your dining space needs to be functional and well equipped for your needs. We take a look at dining furniture and accessories suitable for both open-plan spaces and a self contained dining room. Our selection of cooking appliances will also have you cooking up a feast to remember!

Our homes this issue show a diverse range of styles that will surely inspire. We have Isabella and Michael’s Bangor home, a beautiful restoration that has amazing views of Belfast Lough and has a minimalist style with clean lines and a grey colour palette. Over in London we visit Stuart Blakley’s apartment, who was born and raised just outside Belfast. His home is a treasure trove of antiques and artwork collected over a decade. Last but not least, we have Rita and Thomas’ cottage in Wicklow, where we find a fusion of new and salvaged, giving it a new lease of life while remaining authentic.

If you like Chinese takeaway, you will love our cookery pages this issue. We have four delicious recipes from Kwoklyn Wan’s Chinese Takeaway cookbook for you to rustle up a Valentines treat! For our travel this month we are off to the picturesque town of Killarney in County Kerry where we discover the great outdoors, and further afield we discover some of the not-so-obvious, perfect destinations for couples to enjoy.
