2019 sees us returning to our roots through the use of earth tones. We will share ways to create comfort in open spaces by adding textures, plant life, and defining your dining area.

For many, the kitchen table is where all the conversations begin. Our advice would be to do your homework before you invest in new pieces. Consider the size of your space, or who shares your table day to day. Aesthetically, we are seeing warmer woods mixing with ceramics which create inviting spaces. Feeling daring? Choose a sumptuous fabric like velvet for your dining chairs. Create visual warmth by indulging in green, orange, and brown tones.

One creative challenge with open-plan kitchens is the overall definition of the space. For example, a large rug under a dining table can support an environment of calm and relaxation. Leafy plants such as monstera and heart leaf philodendron can easily add a natural element as well.

So whether it’s a love affair with rich velvet and textured concretes, or simple organisation that you are seeking; there is a wealth of inspiration to be found when creating a home which reflects your personal aesthetic.
