The Greenhouse

Green by colour and by nature, this A BER rated Wicklow home has been shaped with care. It’s built around the idea of bringing the Irish landscape inside, through a palette of greens, natural materials and detail.

For homeowner Yareli, this project carries meaning. It is the first home she and her family have created in Ireland, and she wanted it to feel deeply rooted in its surroundings. ‘It felt important to create a place where we could truly put down roots,’ she begins. Originally from Mexico, Yareli found herself drawn to Ireland’s natural beauty long before she began designing the interiors. The forests, greenery and quiet landscapes became the inspiration for the entire scheme. ‘When designing the interiors, I wanted to bring that same sense of calm indoors,’ she adds and the result is a home of ‘soft greens, natural materials and biophilic elements that help blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors’.
