Marty O’Neill takes us on a tour of his native Strangford Lough and explains why there’s no place like home.

I’m very lucky to travel for fun and otherwise but there’s something about coming home after a few weeks away that warms the heart like nothing else. The excitement of heading off is quite often followed by the draw to be heading back home. Familiarity I suppose, the comfort of your own bed, or routine maybe. I doubt it’s the craving to get back to work… Home for me is the beautiful Strangford Lough on the Ards Peninsula and I thought this would be a good time to give it and the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a shout out. In this article I’m going to share the places I like to eat, the areas I go to relax and some picturesque settings to discover right here on my doorstep. So let’s explore my home!
