Designer Jurgita and her husband merged their personal interior preferences to create this gorgeous Louth home, where calm, groundedness and emotion sit behind every style decision.

Interior designer Jurgita, founder of Sunset Lodge, lives in a home that is as much about emotion as it is about design. Sitting on her husband’s grandparents’ land in Louth, the house is a joint project of compromise and a deep commitment to feeling. ‘The foundation of this home had been there for twenty years, and when we met we decided we wanted something together,’ Jurgita begins. That meant merging two very different ideas. ‘He wanted a typical Irish cottage,’ she says, ‘but we had to agree that there had to be natural light. I wanted a modern style w ith lots of light. We used reclaimed stones from the Midlands to add the cottage feel to the outside. We ended up joining the two ideas together, a cottage style and a modern style, and that is the look. Modern feeling but classic, warm and timeless.’
