A Play on Pastels

When homeowner Rebecca first spotted Daniel George Kitchens on the Digg Mama Instagram account, she didn’t just fall for the look. She saw craftsmanship, character, and a company she could trust to bring her own dream kitchen to life.

As soon as I looked at all their designs, I just knew that’s who I wanted,’ she says. What followed was a collaboration between Rebecca, the team at Daniel George, and her mother Louise of The Vintage Room, whose signature styling added the final layer of warmth and texture to the space and honed its modern vintage feel. The brief was fluid at first. ‘They had a clear appreciation for timeless craftsmanship and classic styling,’ says Ellen Smyth, designer at Daniel George. ‘While Rebecca wasn’t sure about the colours or layout in the early stages, she had a strong sense of the quality and aesthetic she was drawn to.’ The project evolved through sketches, layout discussions, and 3D drawings, with Rebecca selecting colours and finishes herself.
