Built For Belonging
Set in the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains near Draperstown, this striking home was the result of a close collaboration between homeowners Siobhan and John and Eoighin Farren of Farren Architects.
Designed to replace an existing stone dwelling, this new build respects its rural context while confidently marking a new chapter for a family of five. ‘They had a brief,’ says architect Eoighin Farren. ‘It was a collaborative approach. We did a site visit and analysis, looking at the sun path and best views. They had ideas in terms of accommodation and style, but they let us shape it. Our interpretation of their brief had to be very budget-conscious, but they trusted us.’Read more in the September issue…
