Multi-award winning chef Jess Murphy is firmly of the belief that incredible food needn’t be intimidating. Growing up in rural New Zealand, Jess learned first-hand what it meant to live in a community that makes the most of what the land has to offer and one that looks after each other. Fishing, butchering, preserving and honouring Māori traditions were all part of everyday life, yet they also shaped Jess’s culinary career as she travelled to the gold- mining town of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, where she met her now husband, Dave, before moving on to work in restaurants in Wales, Dublin and finally Galway.
