From the pavement, this handsome Victorian façade sits comfortably within the rhythm of the street, but once inside, the house reveals a layered, thoughtful evolution that balances period character with contemporary living.

Atelier Belfast, led by Victor Branco and James Fairley, has taken a fabric first approach to this home’s redesign, respecting the building’s original bones while shaping interiors that feel intentional and genuinely lived in. As Victor explains, ‘This elegant Victorian home has been sensitively modernised and updated to bring it bang up to date for modern family living whilst still retaining many of the original period architectural details.’ That idea of continuity runs through the entire project. Rather than overwriting the past, Atelier has worked with it, allowing ornate plasterwork, tall ceilings and traditional proportions to frame a cleaner, calmer way of living.
