Annette and Ian’s Co Antrim home was never going to fight against the building’s heritage. Instead, it leans into it beautifully and sympathetically, with originality at every turn.
There is something humbling and inspiring about designing a home that already carries so much memory within,’ says homeowner Annette of the renovation of this beautiful property, which dates back to 1933. The house was originally part of a working farm and had been passed down through generations. The owners before Annette and Ian had no children, which allowed the property to come onto the market. ‘We actually purchased it about a year and a half ago and moved in early 2025,’ Annette explains. ‘It was everything we hoped for.’ It marked something of a turnaround, given the couple had already filed plans for a new build.
