Welcome

As we move into high summer, I know with the Irish weather this is hard to believe, we decided to head abroad to the Algarve for our cover home this issue. The owners of this stunning villa enlisted the help of interior designer Kris Turnbull to renovate and redecorate their home away from home and we think you’ll agree that the end result is pretty spectacular.

Back in Ireland, we get to see inside an Edwardian home in Dublin that has been thoughtfully extended and refurbished to maximise the light and space for the homeowners and their four children. Another Dublin home that has undergone a phased revamp is the family home of Kate and Dario who share their story with us. Last but not least, in Julie’s Belfast abode is an eclectic mix of modern touches, colourful artwork, paint effects and charity finds.

This issue we focus on bathrooms, highlighting 12 of the top trends that are currently adding a bit of pizazz to our bathing spaces. Seating options are also on our radar, and as well as highlighting a few of our favourite pieces, we also get advice from the experts to ensure you get exactly what you want for your home.

Our new interior columnist Sara Austin offers her top tips on creating the perfect gallery wall and Interior Association member Emily Cunnane of InSpace tackles any difficulties you might encounter when it comes to adding personality to your home with pattern and strong colour. Plus we have a modern living room makeover by Ash Wilson Design.

In our living section we have lots of tasty treats and recipes to tempt you and there’s also the opportunity to win one of four copies of Lili Forberg’s new cookbook ‘Lili’s Family Favourites’. Jenny McCleery takes to the seas on the new Celebrity Beyond and Marty O’Neill heads to Florida’s Key West, while Jennifer Dowling shares her favourite places in Killarney.

Until next month…
