Yvonne and Alistair’s large scale extension in Belfast was a bid to help expand their family living space. They sought advice from Wilsons Yard to help create a open-plan kitchen that would not only be highly practical but would adhere to the ‘non-fitted’ style that they love.

‘The main incentive behind our new extension was the need for more space, not only kitchen space, but room for living,’ says Yvonne. ‘Our previous kitchen had been small and it lacked the crucial worktop space that every busy family needs. With three kids always on the go, it was important for us to have a kitchen that would work well for the whole family. We needed more room for entertaining, so creating a spacious, open-plan design was always at the forefront of our mind.’
